When commissions are calculated several factors are part of the equation:
- The brokerage fee of the property
- Amount received by your brokerage company
- Your commission split with your brokerage company
- Which side are you representing? The buyer, the seller or both.
Calculating the GROSS Commission on the sale of a property
Sale Price of Property= $200,000.00
HUFF Realty Commission % .......................x 7.0%
Gross Commission.......= $14,000.00
Calculating the HUFF BROKERAGE Commission on the sale of a property
Listing Company (Seller) at 4% Commission = $8,000
Selling Company (Buyer) at 3% Commission= $6,000
Note: The sale of real estate property creates two transaction sides (one buyer | one seller).
Calculating the AGENT Commission on the sale of a property
Listing Company Agent Commission 50% of $8,000 = $4,000*
Listing Company Broker Commission 50% of $8,000 = $4,000
Selling Company Agent Commission 50% of $6,000 = $3,000*
Selling Company Broker Commission 50% of $6,000 = $3,000
* Occasionally agents receive both sides of the real estate commission - $4,000 + $3,000 = $7,000
HUFF Realty starts all new agents with a 50/50 split. Your earnings can be more if you are both the Listing and Selling agent. The commission split goes up in your favor based on a pre-established earnings and education scale.
Training and support services to the agents are paid out of the company's share of the commission split. HUFF Realty has NO franchise fees and NO desk fees. Your monthly out-of-pocket expenses are nominal but your benefits are substantial.
Some companies have other compensation plans, but may not offer some services that agents may find beneficial.
